Biography

Marina Agarkova received a bachelor’s degree in Geography at the University of Vienna with a specialization in Cartography and Geoinformation. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Cartography and Geoinformation at the University of Vienna and writing her master’s thesis. Her university studies involved courses such as applied image processing and remote sensing, geography of climate and hydrology and geoecology.

Marina completed a GIS internship at AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, where she focused on implementing new functions and unit tests with Python, writing tutorials and documentations, reviewing research papers and analysing data. Marina is currently an intern at United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), where she is writing short articles on the use of space technology for water resource management, adding and editing content for the Space4Water Portal, including translating articles from English to Russian.
