About African Ministers' Council on Water
AMCOW is an intergovernmental organization created by member states of the African Union with a mandate to promote cooperation, security, social and economic development and poverty eradication among the member states through the effective management of the continent’s water resources and provision of water supply and sanitation services. Since its establishment, AMCOW has worked extensively to achieve its mandate by initiating and developing policies with the African Union in the areas of water infrastructure, water resources management, sanitation and hygiene, water financing, global changes and risk management, capacity building and knowledge management and monitoring and evaluation.
