15th International Conference on Hydroinformatics

15th International Conference on Hydroinformatics
27 - 31 May 2024
UTC+08:00
Haidian Qu, China

Hydroinformatics is defined as the study of the flow of information and the generation of knowledge related to the dynamics of water in the real world, through the integration of modelling, information technologies and artificial intelligence considering sustainability and social implications for decision support and smart management of water-based systems.

Hydroinformatics focuses on the application of information and communications technologies to address issues in water uses and services, water resources management, water related hazards and other fields connected to the aquatic environment. Within the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the growing complexity and competition among water uses request a higher level of efficiency within the management approaches. To tackle those multiple challenges exacerbated by the climate change threat, Hydroinformatics community should develop a holistic approach integrating among many, the digital transformation of water systems, the development of smart water networks, the demand for real-time decision support systems within the challenges of interoperability and social acceptance.

As the Hydroinformatics community continuously grows, its interests encompass a wide range of topics, from the numerical modelling to the development of new sensors and tools, the interpretation of increasing amounts of data, the massive use of cloud-based approaches and High-Performance Computing (HPC) solutions, the real-time analysis and management of complex water systems, the integration of models, data, and controls for practical applications.

The multiplication of recent crisis, in the context of the constant threat of climate change, has underlined the need to evolve the current concepts of water management into a global approach capable of addressing both energy and food production with the ambition of more resilient society. The challenges today are numerous and require a coordinated commitment from the different communities involved in these issues. The Hydroinformatics community has a major role to play within this context.

The conference will serve as a perfect venue and platform for practitioners, engineers, researchers, scientists, managers and decision makers from Europe, Oceania, and Americas to meet their Asian counterparts to exchange the most recent developments in the Hydroinformatics field and the urgent water related issues.
