The Resilient Systems and Climate Action research group within the Civil Engineering department at the University of Birmingham has developed innovative open-source modelling tools to harness the power of satellite data in addressing climate resilience challenges. These tools integrate Earth observation data with advanced computational models to provide precise and actionable insights into flood risks and climate impacts. Their research empowers researchers, policymakers, and local stakeholders worldwide with effective tools for analysis and informed decision-making. Notably, they have developed national-scale flood early warning systems and climate risk assessment tools, seamlessly integrating these innovations with climate adaptation policies to enhance resilience and sustainability.
