Biography
Bassant Elghitany is a computer engineering graduate from Mansoura University's Faculty of Engineering, earning honors for her academic achievements. She actively participated in a graduation project focused on detecting changes in agricultural land from satellite images using deep learning techniques, which led to her team securing the second place in the Dell Envision the Future competition. Upon graduation, Bassant assumed the role of R&D Engineer for an agricultural project aimed at estimating Egypt's resources through satellite imagery. Her specialization in calculating the areas of various strategic crops using deep learning methods contributed significantly to the project's success.
Currently, Bassant serves as a Data Scientist at EgSA, where she applies her expertise in analyzing diverse satellite data to derive valuable insights related to agriculture, water management, and urban development. Her dedication and proficiency in leveraging technology for solving real-world challenges underscore her contributions to the field of computer engineering and data science.
