The 40th IAHR World Congress in Vienna, Austria, from August 21st to 25th, 2023.
The main theme of the 40th IAHR World Congress will be “Rivers – Connecting Mountains and Coasts” focusing attention on the importance of considering the integral water cycle to address present and future challenges.
The Congress aims to provide scientists, engineers, organisations, central and local authorities, companies, and young professionals early in their careers an exciting opportunity to share and discuss recent advances and experiences and identify innovative and emerging trends in hydro-environmental science and engineering.
The Congress aims to provide an integrative and interdisciplinary platform where science, engineering, and societal policy can meet, the Congress will bring together the water science, engineering, and management communities to help address the world’s most pressing water challenges.
It will put a particular focus on rivers being lifelines connecting mountains and coasts. Rivers are strongly affected by climate and land use change, while we require rivers to provide safe drinking water, energy, transportation, and navigation, as well as ecosystem services.
The event has traditionally provided researchers and decision makers with the opportunity to share recent advances and experiences, identify emerging technology trends and engage in lively debates that have positively impacted our world.
The online abstract submission process is now open and accessible here, where you can also find details about the preliminary program. The abstract submission deadline is 30 November 2022. All abstracts will be peer-reviewed and the Congress International Scientific Committee (ISC) will inform contributors if their abstract has been selected by 31 December 2022.
