The Global Framework on Water Scarcity in Agriculture (WASAG) will hold its 2nd International Forum with the theme "Making agriculture resilient for climate change: Water scarcity, an opportunity for action and collaboration" on 7-10 February 2023 in Praia, Cabo Verde.

The second WASAG International Forum provides the setting for developing collaborative actions as solutions to the increasing challenges posed by climate change and the resulting water scarcity, in order to make agriculture more resilient. The Forum aims to:

"The 6th Nile Basin Development Forum (NBDF) hosted virtually by Ethiopia, will focus on assessing whether NBI Member States have been implementing water resources investments at a speed and scale commensurate with the growing demand for food, water and energy across the Basin. The World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) Open Science Conference, focusing on “Advancing climate science for a sustainable future”, will be held in Kigali, Rwanda, and online on 23-27 October 2023, with the major goal of bridging science and society.

Remote Sensing of the Water: Sensors to Science to Society

In the past decade, there have been unprecedented changes in the fields of sensor technology, satellite missions, modeling and applications to benefit society. Small satellite systems are shifting observational paradigms to more rapid revisits, higher resolutions and ever-increasing volumes of data. The commercial sector has launched hundreds of satellites and companies are now in the business of understanding the water cycle.

The 9th Digital Earth Summit 2022, on theme

"Digital Earth to Bridge Digital Divide for Attainment of Sustainable Development Goals"

will be held in Chennai, by the Institute of Remote Sensing, Anna University from September 6th - 8th, 2022.

Over the years, the EUMETSAT user conference has become a key annual event for the meteorological and scientific communities where participants from around the world can meet to share their experience and knowledge during plenary, poster and workshop sessions.

The theme of this year’s annual EUMETSAT conference is “The Evolutionary challenge for EO satellites from technology to exploitation”.

The theme of this year's Conference will be "NEXT LEVEL: Space to Community". It will be held from 8 to 10 August 2023 at RCMRD, Nairobi, Kenya.

Following the success of the first two editions in 2019 and 2022, the Copernicus Relays of Luxembourg and Belgium (i.e. LIST, Skywin, ISSeP, Spacebel and VITO) organise the 3rd edition of the AI4Copernicus event, focussing this time on:

                             “Earth Observation & Artificial Intelligence solutions for climate change challenges”

which will take place on 25 May 2023 in Mondorf-les-Bains, Luxembourg or online.

The largest international meeting in the water sector is planned to be held in Bali on 18-24 May 2024 with the theme "Water for Shared Prosperity" to answer global challenges and potentials caused by increasing population growth and urbanization.

The forum will promote and further the agenda to achieve not only Goal 6 on clean water and sanitation, but all SDGs by highlighting factors for conservation, environmental protection, and integrated water management approach.
