Biography

Avid is an electronic engineer who graduated from the Universidad Nacional San Antonio Abad del Cusco, and a systems engineer from the Universidad Andina del Cusco. He received his Master's Degree in Industrial and Human Automatic from the Université Paul Verlaine de Metz - France, and he received his Ph.D. Degree in Image and Signal Processing from TELECOM ParisTech. He was a Postdoctoral fellow at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia.

His work experience includes research at the French Space Agency (CNES) and German Aerospace Center (DLR), university teaching (UNSAAC, UAC, UNI, UPCH, UCH, and UNTELS), performance as engineer in CONIDA, SPECTRUM, EGEMSA, etc.

Within various projects developed over the last years, which mainly focused on post-disaster management related to water, one can mention "Flood Analysis in Peru Using Satellite Image: The Summer 2017 Case", "Analysis of Landslide in Chosica Using Satellite Images", "Analysis of Landslides in Peru Based on Satellite Images to Identify Danger Zones", "Analysis of harmful algal blooms in Lake Titicaca using remote sensing", among others.
