Biography
Faheed Jasin is a Climate Hazards Consultant and Programmer at Fast Hazard, where he works on flood modelling, climate risk assessments, and the development of geospatial tools to support anticipatory action and disaster preparedness. He has provided technical expertise for clients including the World Bank, the Global Centre for Adaptation, the African Development Bank, and The Nature Conservancy.
Earlier in his career, Faheed worked with the Netherlands Red Cross and the Kerala State Disaster Management Authority, contributing to drought assessments, downscaling climate projections, and integrating risk information into local planning processes.
His research interests focus on compound climate extremes, physically-based hydrological modelling, and bridging data-driven with process-based methods for climate hazard assessment. Alongside his professional work, he is conducting part-time research at ITC (University of Twente), which concentrates on compound hydro-meteorological extremes.
