Hosted by the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD)
Part of CPD Climate Week 2025
Conference Dates: 19–20 October 2025

The Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) invites early career researchers to submit abstracts for the International Conference on Climate Solutions for Vulnerable Countries, scheduled to take place during CPD Climate Week 2025. This event aims to foster the exchange of innovative research and ideas among young scholars who are actively exploring the multifaceted challenges of climate change, particularly as they affect vulnerable countries.

This conference serves as a platform for early career researchers to present cutting-edge work, receive feedback from global experts, and participate in interdisciplinary discussions that shape the future of climate policy, adaptation, and resilience.

Context

Climate change has evolved from a looming concern into an urgent reality, impacting both developed and developing nations. However, Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and South Asian nations face heightened vulnerability due to limited adaptive capacities, reliance on climate-sensitive sectors, and rapid urbanization and industrialization. These dynamics call for robust strategies that address both adaptation and mitigation, while ensuring inclusive and sustainable development pathways.

To meet these challenges, there is a pressing need for transformative solutions—ranging from clean energy transitions and sustainable infrastructure development to increased climate finance access and community-based adaptation efforts.

Thematic areas

Researchers are invited to submit abstracts addressing one or more of the following thematic areas:

  • Climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies
  • Climate finance, policy, and governance
  • Locally Led Adaptation (LLA) and Nature-based Solutions (NbS)
  • Urban heat stress management
  • Climate change impacts on agriculture, health, and livelihoods
  • Renewable energy and low-carbon transitions
  • Climate justice, gender equity, and community resilience
  • Modelling climate risks and socio-economic impacts

Submissions are encouraged to be interdisciplinary and policy-relevant, offering innovative perspectives that contribute to real-world climate solutions.
