Report on the United Nations/Ghana/Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water Fifth International Conference on the Use of Space Technology for Water Management

Abstract

The Fifth International Conference on the Use of Space Technology for Water Management was organized by the Office for Outer Space Affairs under the United Nations Programme on Space Applications. Originally scheduled to take place in 2021, it was held from 10 to 13 May 2022 in Accra and online in a hybrid configuration, owing to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

The Conference was co-hosted with the Government of Ghana and the Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water (PSIPW). The University of Energy and Natural Resources was the local organizer, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, and the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources. It was supported by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the secretariat of the Inter-Islamic Network on Space Sciences and Technology.
