About School of Geography/Observatorio del Agua y Cambio Global

The Observatory for Water and Global Change (OACG Spanish acronym) is a investigation department of the School of Geography of the University of Costa Rica. It is an interdisciplinary group of academics, professionals and students that work in topics related to water and global change from the investigation, teaching and social action programs.

It has the goal of encourage and strengthen the cooperation among peers and institutions, by integrating and promoting networks that work locally and interact globally. The School of Geography (DG) and the Observatory for Water and Global Change host internationally recognized expertise in (a) tracer hydrology to better understand hydrological functioning across climate gradients in response to environmental change, (b) atmospheric research focused mostly on weather and climate systems and (c) integrated water resources management.
