Lukas Graf works as a software developer and researcher in the field of agriculture, food security and space-borne remote sensing. His work is concerned about the evaluation of optical remote sensing data using physical and statistical methods. The ultimate goal of his work is to enable a more sustainable usage of limited natural resources. Since the beginning of his master studies he has also been using methods of machine and deep learning to handle the exponentially growing amount of earth observation data.

In addition to his research activities, Lukas Graf develops commercial as well as open-source software that can be used for the analysis of optical remote sensing data in agriculture and hydrological modelling. An example is the tool “OBIA4RTM” which is available as free software on Github.
