What is the Space4Water Portal for?
The Space4Water Portal is a capacity building platform for interdisciplinary knowledge exchange on space technologies and water-related topics. We offer a platform for expert communities to share information on software, apps, publications, projects, initiatives and training materials to enable access for actors from developing countries.
How do I use the Space4Water Portal?
The Space4Water Portal is a user-friendly interactive platform that offers information on space technologies and water-related topics. The content at the Space4Water Portal is categorized to help you easily find the resources you look for. The sub-menu items under Resources contain most of shared content by our stakeholders and include, information on the participating stakeholders themselves, information on programmes / initiatives / satellite missions and community portals, information on software, publications, information on data sharing, and on standards. Capacity-building and training material is accessible here.
You may also use an integrated search option to find content. Kindly note, that so far publications are not included in the search, but searchable here.
Why should I join Space4Water Portal?
The Space4Water Portal is an interdiciplinary knowledge exchange platform open to be used by any interested party. Joining the Space4Water portal means becoming a featured stakeholder or a contributing private person (see question below). As such you benefit from an increased exposure to a highly specialized community of practice.
Who can be registered as a stakeholder?
Any legal entity working or researching in the fields of space and/or water can apply to become a stakeholder by filling in this form. Private persons with a specialization in the field can send their motivation to become featured by writing an email to office[ at ]space4water.org. Kindly also include the information you would like to see published on the Space4Water Portal.
Can I contribute an article or news story?
Yes, anyone can voluntarily send us articles or stories. Please follow the instructions here.
Can I contribute photos/videos related to water and earth observation topics?
Yes, everyone is encouraged to send us photos or videos. If you would like to contribute us your photos or videos on water-related and space technologies topics, please send us an email to office[ at ]space4water.org including the title and a short description of your photo or video. The submitted material will be examined by our team and you will be kindly asked to provide us a permission to use your photos/videos by signing this photography usage agreement.

How can I contribute information on software / web applications / APIs or apps?
First make sure you have applied to become a featured stakeholder. Stakeholders are encouraged to fill in the following form to submit information on their software and tools.

Who can apply for the Meet a Young Professional
Eligibility:
- Age (age limits are published in the respective call)
- Graduate degree (Master’s degree (or equivalent), or PhD, or currently enrolled in it)
- Specialization in a field relevant for the Space4Water Portal Community (Space science, Earth observation, geographic information systems, hydrology, water resource management, policy, environmental law, science diplomacy, etc. or a combination thereof)
- Relevant professional experience or continued study at the doctoral level
- Fluency in English
Additional Qualifications
To be competitive, applicants should additionally:
- Display a commitment and passion for space technologies or sustainable development
- Possess outstanding academic credentials
- Experience in projects related to both space technologies and water management is an asset
