The Global Water Partnership, United Nations Environment Programme and Cap-Net United Nations Development Programme have organised online events on "Accelerating Action Towards Target SDG 6.6: Protecting and Restoring Freshwater Ecosystems".

The events will build on the results and learnings from a pilot project recently concluded in Argentina, Kenya, and Kazakhstan, and will explore how to effectively advance on freshwater ecosystem restoration and protection, with a focus on increasing awareness of environmental data available, capacity development, and action planning through multistakeholder engagement, within the context of SDG 6.6.

The first session will be offered in English and Russian, with interpretation provided. It will feature interviews with country representatives from Kazakhstan and Kenya, as well as a panel discussion with an expert from The Nature Conservancy (TNC), and country representatives from Uganda, Georgia (tbc) and Armenia (tbc).

Please consult the agenda available on the events website for a detailed overview of speakers.
